About the position

The Treatment Nurse at Focused Post Acute Care Partners is responsible for providing nursing care and treatments to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to nursing standards and regulations. This role involves leading licensed and non-professional staff in delivering direct resident care, maintaining a professional approach, and supporting the facility's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatments and nursing care to residents as prescribed by the physician.
• Lead or direct licensed and non-professional staff in the delivery of direct resident care.
• Provide wound care, including bandages, cleaning, and applying medication.
• Assess appropriateness of bandage integrity during dressing changes.
• Ensure availability of treatment supplies and medications as prescribed.
• Provide gastrostomy tube feeding care and colostomy/urostomy care as directed by the physician.
• Document weekly care and comply with facility guidelines for documentation.
• Maintain consistent patient care schedule and efficiently use time.
• Coordinate restorative treatments with other facility departments.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other team members.

Requirements

• Must have a current LVN/RN license.
• CPR certification required.
• At least one year of experience in an acute medical/nursing center or a long-term care center.
• Ability to understand, remember, and carry out verbal or written instructions in English.
• Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in infection control and wound care.
• Knowledge of the special needs of geriatric clients.
