About the position

The Treatment Nurse position involves providing specialized nursing care focused on wound management and patient assessment. The role requires a reliable and trustworthy individual who can work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Treatment Nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients' conditions, performing dressing changes, and ensuring proper communication with healthcare teams and families.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dressing changes and wound care.
  • Monitor and follow up on all ulcers and incisions with appropriate documentation and communication to physician and family.
  • Assess weekly nutrition/hydration of residents with ulcers and incisions, and evaluate and initiate additional nutritional intake as required.
  • Monitor lab reports for incidence of infection in assigned wounds.
  • Evaluate causative factors/problems and solutions, and communicate findings to nursing staff management.
  • Augment floor staffing if needed.

Requirements

  • Licensed Nurse in good standing with state agency.
  • Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
  • Leadership qualities and good communication skills.
