About the position

The Tree Care Account Manager is responsible for managing key accounts and overseeing all tree care operations for a full-service landscape company. This role focuses on ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, project management, and driving business growth within the tree care industry. The position requires strong leadership skills, excellent customer relations, and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Own multiple tree care accounts fully, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and solutions tailored to their tree care needs.
  • Manage tree care projects, including pruning, removals, and plant health care, while directing crews in safe and effective execution.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures for all operations, ensuring that the safety of team members and the public is the top priority.
  • Develop proposals, estimates, and schedules for multiple tree care jobs, ensuring profitable results and on-time delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with tree care operations, including managing utility lines, space requirements, and safety zones.
  • Manage all tree care tools and equipment, ensuring regular maintenance and removing malfunctioning items from service until repaired.
  • Attend client meetings, perform landscape walks, and independently recommend tree care needs to clients.
  • Be available for emergency situations as needed and provide timely service responses.
  • Complete paperwork and customer requests accurately, using company software for scheduling, reporting, and managing accounts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in tree care, with a proven track record of managing accounts and leading teams.
  • A degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, or a related field is advantageous.
  • ISA Certified Arborist certification (or must obtain within 12 months).
  • ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) within 2 years.
  • TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) is encouraged but not required.
  • Strong understanding of tree care principles, including tree identification, plant health care, pruning techniques, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Proficient in using technology for scheduling, reporting, and account management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) within 2 years.
  • TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) is encouraged but not required.
