The Tree Climber/Trimmer position at Penn Line Service Inc involves performing tree trimming, clearing, and removal of trees along electric power lines and right-of-ways. The role requires climbing trees to reach branches that interfere with electric lines, utilizing climbing equipment, and ensuring safety while operating various tools and machinery. This position is essential for maintaining safe and clear access to power lines, especially during emergency situations.
Responsibilities
- Perform tree trimming, clearing, and removal of trees along electric power lines and right-of-ways.
- Climb trees to reach branches interfering with electric lines using climbing equipment.
- Operate chainsaws, pruners, brush chippers, and aerial lift devices (bucket trucks).
- Ensure knowledge of chainsaw safety and roping & rigging techniques.
- Respond to emergency storm duty as needed.
- Travel to various states for work assignments based on contract demands.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of verifiable experience in utility line clearance and/or residential tree clearance setting.
- Knowledge of chainsaw safety and roping & rigging techniques.
- Valid Driver License; CDL License preferred.
- Ability to operate climbing equipment and aerial lift devices.
