The Trial Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys during jury and bench trials. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including preparing exhibit binders, organizing pretrial documents, conducting legal research, and managing trial case documents. The paralegal will be the primary point of contact for the trial team, coordinating schedules with internal teams, clients, experts, and witnesses. This role requires a proactive approach to monitor deadlines and assist the trial team in meeting those deadlines effectively. In addition to coordinating trial schedules, the Trial Paralegal will assist in the preparation of pre-trial motions, including drafting initial versions of Pre-trial Orders, jury instructions, and motions in limine. The paralegal will also conduct jury investigations, prepare notes on jurors, and perform social media research to support jury selection. Maintaining organized trial notebooks, document indices, and exhibit lists is essential, as is the ability to summarize depositions and other legal documents. The Trial Paralegal will also assist in the development and presentation of evidence during court proceedings, providing litigation support at evidentiary hearings and trials. This includes uploading all relevant documents, such as deposition exhibits and transcripts, for use during the trial. The role may also involve supervising other paralegals, providing training, and ensuring that projects are completed accurately and on time. The paralegal will handle their own caseload, which includes drafting various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
