About the position

The Project Manager/Lead role at Thermo Fisher Scientific is focused on overseeing the delivery of clinical research projects within the North America region. This position is responsible for managing project quality, timelines, and costs while ensuring effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams. The role requires a strong understanding of clinical development and project management principles, as well as the ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact and lead between the sponsor and the organization at the project level.
  • Ensure clear delineation in responsibilities and communication pathways for secondary project leads as required.
  • Drive and own the overall delivery of the cross-functional project, focusing on time, cost, and quality.
  • Demonstrate financial stewardship at the project level, managing budgets and out-of-scope activities.
  • Establish, communicate, and manage customer expectations to achieve optimal delivery during the project.
  • Drive risk identification and issue resolution at the project level.
  • Ensure project team compliance with organization policies, SOPs, ICH-GCP, regulatory, and project-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
  • 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry and/or clinical research organization.
  • 3+ years as a clinical study manager with global oversight experience.
  • Proven leadership skills and strong vendor management experience.
  • Comprehensive therapeutic area knowledge and understanding of clinical development guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Expert knowledge of cross-functional project management principles (Time, Quality, Cost).
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven flexibility and ability to prioritize workload in a changing environment.
  • Skilled in process improvement and strategic development related to clinical trials.
