About the position

The Tribal Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the grounds of the public Tribal facility, performing a variety of tasks including litter pick-up, tree trimming, and irrigation system maintenance. This role requires both skilled and semi-skilled manual labor, operating various power tools and equipment, and ensuring the aesthetic upkeep of the facility's outdoor areas. The position involves working under general supervision and requires the ability to diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform litter pick-up and maintain cleanliness of assigned areas.
• Trim trees and shrubs as needed to maintain appearance.
• Fertilize and water lawns, trees, and shrubs using appropriate methods.
• Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants.
• Operate power tools and equipment such as mowers, edgers, and tractors.
• Inspect grounds and facilities, recommending repairs as necessary.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning grounds equipment.
• Maintain tools and equipment in clean working order.
• Interact with internal and external guests in a professional manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid California driver's license required.
• 0 to 1 year of related experience in groundskeeping or maintenance.
• Knowledge of proper gardening techniques and ornamental plant species.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
