The Tribal NEPA Project Manager position at Montrose is a remote role that focuses on supporting environmental projects in collaboration with Tribal Nations. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating various project tasks, ensuring that all project workflows are maintained efficiently. This includes utilizing database software to update project statuses, managing electronic project documents, and communicating effectively with clients and team members to meet expectations. As a key member of the Tribal team, the Project Manager will engage in a variety of activities that support the development and management of environmental projects. This includes providing project management expertise for tribal fee-to-trust projects, conducting environmental impact analyses, and coordinating biological and cultural assessments. The role also involves research and document production related to NEPA and/or CEQA, as well as the coordination of other environmental projects. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in implementing strategies for engaging with Tribal Nation partners and clients, ensuring that communications are transparent and consistent. This includes working on projects related to housing, gaming, recreational, agricultural, brownfields, renewable energy, and other environmental initiatives. The position requires a proactive approach to project management, including budget and schedule tracking, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safety practices as outlined by the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, while also coaching and reviewing the work of team members. Responsibilities

  • Provide project management and environmental planning knowledge for tribal fee-to-trust projects.
  • Support environmental impact analysis, coordination of biological and cultural assessments, and NEPA/CEQA research and document production.
  • Coordinate relationship-building with Tribal Nation partners and clients to bolster Montrose's reputation as a trusted ally.
  • Implement transparent communications with Tribal governments and Indigenous Communities on various environmental projects.
  • Assist in data gathering and writing sections for CEQA/NEPA documents.
  • Prepare permit applications and coordinate with consultants and project team members.
  • Interface with clients and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and success.
  • Manage and maintain budget tracking and schedule tracking for projects.
  • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations.

Requirements
