About the position

The Tribal Operations Specialist position at the Bureau of Indian Affairs involves implementing branch functions and enrollment activities for the Tribal Operations Branch. This role provides technical assistance to serviced tribes regarding tribal governmental functions and maintains communication with these tribes. The position is permanent and full-time, located in Carson City, Nevada, with occasional travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Tribal Operations Officer with matters involving tribal organic documents.
  • Provide technical assistance to serviced tribes regarding tribal governmental functions.
  • Prepare correspondence related to tribal government issues, documents, and reports.
  • Maintain contact with serviced tribes and facilitate data calls.
  • Review and maintain a master file for serviced tribes of tribal governmental functions.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-5 level in federal service, or one full year of graduate level education, or superior academic achievement for GS-07.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-7 level in federal service, or a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree for GS-09.

Nice-to-haves
