The Trim Tech I position at Gold Flora in Desert Hot Springs, CA, is a full-time role responsible for the meticulous process of trimming cannabis flowers to meet quality standards. The primary duties include breaking down plants, separating usable products from waste, and ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations. The role requires a keen eye for detail, as the technician must identify and separate various parts of the plant, including fan leaves, stems, and sugar leaves, while maintaining a steady pace and high-quality output. The technician will also be responsible for tracking the batches trimmed, including the final product and the amounts of usable and unusable by-products. This position demands strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment. In addition to trimming, the Trim Tech I will be expected to maintain cleanliness in processing areas and equipment, adhere to safety and security protocols, and comply with all company policies. The work environment is an indoor manufacturing facility with controlled temperatures, where the technician may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, and airborne particles. The role may also require travel to different dispensaries and locations, particularly during peak times. Candidates must be prepared to work overtime and weekends as needed, especially during the initial months with the company. Overall, this position is crucial for ensuring that the cannabis products meet the high standards set by Gold Flora and comply with all legal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Breakdown flowers off of stem and stalk of plant to separate unusable waste from usable product.
  • Track the amount of unusable waste for each plant/batch.
  • Trim product to comply with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify and separate fan leaves, stems, and sugar leaves on the flower after breakdown of plant.
  • Separate big and small flowers prior to trimming after breakdown of plant.
  • Weigh, count, and check for each by-product type processed off the flower; adding stems and fan leaves to 'waste' for proper tracking.
  • Exhibit competency in basic organizational, tracking, and communication skills.
  • Work well independently and with others.
  • Adapt to various strains, styles, and types of cannabis while trimming.
  • Manage time efficiently to meet goals while producing quality product.
  • Follow basic instructions to maintain quality standards and production goals.
  • Show up on time for work every day ready to work.
  • Exhibit personal hygiene while processing cannabis.
  • Responsible for clean-up of all processing areas and equipment at the end of every day.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by manager.
  • Ensure daily compliance with company policies including state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, dress code, and work schedule.

Requirements

  • Experience with cannabis cultivation and trimming.
  • Accuracy and consistency while trimming.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use repetitive motions of hands, wrists, and forearms.
  • Ability to focus on a task for long periods of time.
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
