About the position
Geeks Who Drink is seeking part-time Trivia Emcees/Hosts to provide an engaging pub quiz experience. The role involves entertaining a crowd, managing quiz events, and utilizing technology to facilitate the quiz process. Ideal candidates will have a background in public speaking or performance and a passion for creating fun and interactive experiences for participants.
Responsibilities
- Entertain a potentially rowdy crowd and command the room.
- Utilize a web-based app for hosting responsibilities before and after quiz night.
- Complete online and/or in-person training on the use of systems and basic AV setup.
- Engage with participants and create a fun atmosphere during quiz events.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old to be hired.
- Must own a working laptop and a device for taking pictures.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- General proficiency with technology is required.
- Experience performing in front of a live audience (theater, stand-up, improv, etc.) is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience as a teacher, DJ, or actor is beneficial.
