About the position

The Driver - CDL (B) position at Republic Services involves safely operating a collection truck to provide efficient waste removal services for customers. The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards, compliance with regulations, and maintaining vehicle readiness. The driver is expected to interact courteously with customers and ensure timely service delivery while performing pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and to the disposal site.
• Read route sheet, follow map, and service each customer as identified on the route sheet.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of collected material.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely service.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them according to departmental procedures.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste and clean up spills as necessary.
• Maintain the vehicle's operational readiness and clean waste from the packer blade and truck body.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other necessary documentation.
• Adhere to required productivity standards and safety policies.

Requirements

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver's license with air brakes endorsement.
• Good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Good time management skills to ensure responsibilities are completed efficiently.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and promote safety standards.
