About the position
Blue Rhino, a subsidiary of Ferrellgas, is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Full-Time Propane Truck Driver to join our team in Smithfield, NC. This position is essential for our operations, as our drivers are responsible for delivering 20lb propane cylinders to our retail customers. The role does not require prior driving experience, but candidates must possess a valid CDL Class C license with a Hazmat endorsement or be willing to obtain one. In this role, you will be responsible for loading, securing, transporting, delivering, and unloading propane cylinders to specified destinations. You will also prepare and maintain records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring that all safety procedures are followed while operating the truck. Daily interaction with customers is a key aspect of this position, as you will provide exceptional customer service by supplying service information and addressing inquiries. We are looking for individuals who possess a drive, determination, and professionalism, as well as a desire to contribute significantly to the growth of our business. The position may require you to perform responsibilities during evening hours and weekends as needed, and you will be expected to maintain the appearance of our displays and assist in managing the flow of materials and products under safety guidelines. Responsibilities
- Loads, secures, transports, delivers, and unloads propane cylinders to and from specified destinations and customers.
- Prepares and maintains records in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and company procedures.
- Operates truck in accordance to established safety procedures.
- Engages in daily interaction with customers and provides exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries.
- Possesses a drive, determination, professionalism, and the desire to be a significant factor in growing our business.
- Meets all DOT requirements.
- Loads propane tanks and cylinders, as well as maintains the appearance of our displays.
- Assists in handling and maintaining flow of materials and products under safety guidelines.
- Maintains Ferrellgas office and plant or yard for a professional appearance.
- Performs responsibilities during evening hours and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Class C CDL license with hazmat endorsements.
- At least 1 year driving experience.
- Clean driving record.
- Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding the English language.
- Ability to pass the MVR, background check, drug screen, and physical abilities test.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
