About the position

The Truck Driver - Class A position at Core-Mark involves delivering food and food-related products to customers, ensuring timely and safe transportation while adhering to DOT regulations. Responsibilities

• Drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck on local, OTR, shuttle, and overnight routes.
• Perform safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of the vehicle and trailer.
• Report safety issues and required repairs promptly.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices.
• Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route schedule.
• Unload products and transport them into designated customer storage areas.
• Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain signatures.
• Complete daily records of hours of service in accordance with DOT and company requirements.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• 6+ months commercial tractor/trailer experience
• Valid CDL-A
• Must be 21+ years of age
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass post-offer drug test and road test
• Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card
• Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights.

Nice-to-haves

• 1+ years foodservice distribution/delivery experience
• Experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet)
• Experience with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD)
• Customer service-related work experience.
