About the position
The position involves safely driving a commercial vehicle within a 300-mile radius from central New York, primarily delivering finished goods to customer warehouses and picking up raw materials. The role emphasizes compliance with safety regulations, continuous training, and excellent customer service, while also performing various operational tasks such as yard jockey duties and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Safely driving a commercial vehicle and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Delivering finished goods to customer warehouses and picking up raw materials from various locations.
- Delivering liquid whey to farms and digesters, operating various types of pumps to fill tanks without overflow or spillage.
- Occasionally performing yard jockey duties.
- Filling out bills of lading and other required paperwork.
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Following Chobani safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Requirements
- CDL Class A license with tank endorsement.
- 1+ years of tractor-trailer driving experience, including experience with tanker trucks, or 5+ years of CDL Class A driving experience without tanker truck experience.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules.
- Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards.
- Maintaining accurate records and logs.
- Loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight as required.
