About the position
As a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III at Penske, you will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are safe and reliable for customers. Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Utilize Penske's tools and technologies for logging, researching, and completing repairs.
- Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics and preventative maintenance repairs, including tire rotation and lubrication.
- Collaborate with your manager to learn new skills through training and coaching.
- Complete other assigned projects and tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Must comply with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies.
- Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
