About the position

The Truck Driver position is responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of products to customers. This role requires a commercial driver's license and adherence to DOT regulations, with a focus on safe driving practices. The driver will also assist with loading and unloading, maintaining accurate logs, and ensuring the quality of the loads being transported.

Responsibilities

• Keep all DOT daily logs and fuel records accurate and current
• Make sure all deliveries are on time and receipts are signed
• Inspect tractor and trailer & keep swept out
• Sweep/maintain clean dock & warehouse area
• Responsible for inspecting loads for quality as it's being unloaded
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks
• Provide updates to Shipping/Customer Service on deliveries
• Stretch wrap products
• Ensure all loads are strapped and properly secured
• Operate fork trucks to control movement of lifting apparatus
• Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials
• Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device
• Weigh materials or products and record weight schedules
• Load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device
• Fill fuel tank or replace liquefied gas tank
• Ensure all units are recorded on proper paperwork
• Fill out pre-inspection forms
• Inspect bales for damage

Requirements

• Five (5) years previous driving experience
• Strong knowledge of safety and DOT regulations
• Possess a clean driving record and agree to annual driving record
• Physically fit and submit to medical exam every two years
• Hand-eye coordination to maintain fast reaction time
• Visual and hearing acuity as per federal regulations
