About the position

The Truck Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective purchasing strategies for acquiring trucks and related equipment. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies for acquiring trucks and related equipment.
  • Analyze market trends to identify cost-effective solutions that meet the company's needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with truck manufacturers, dealers, and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable supply chains.
  • Conduct thorough market research to stay informed about new truck models, technologies, and pricing trends.
  • Monitor inventory levels of trucks and related equipment to ensure that procurement aligns with operational demands.
  • Analyze total cost of ownership, including maintenance, fuel efficiency, and resale value, to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and logistics, to ensure that purchasing decisions support overall business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies throughout the purchasing process.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier agreements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in truck purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms and building positive supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess market conditions, evaluate suppliers, and analyze costs.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and reporting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple purchasing projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
