About the position

The US Foods® Driver position is a vital role within the foodservice industry, focusing on the safe and efficient transportation of goods. Drivers are expected to communicate effectively with dispatchers, manage equipment, and ensure timely deliveries while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments
• Keep assigned equipment coupled
• Move trailers between buildings as directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor
• Load, unload or merge loads between environments
• Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers
• Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets
• Place backhauls in correct door to be unloaded by warehouse
• Make sure all equipment is paired and ready for next day's deliveries
• Work with mechanics nightly
• Attend all required company meetings
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid driver's license issued by state of residence
• Minimum of six months Non-CDL commercial driving experience preferred
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
• Must be able to pass DOT physical
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language.
