About the position

The Truss Assembler/Builder position is an entry-level role focused on performing repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs. The role involves working at different workstations based on production needs and requires adherence to safety procedures while maintaining a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Place parts in specified relationship to each other.
• Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together.
• Cut products to specific measurements as needed.
• Remove defective products as needed.
• Tend machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line.
• Work at different workstations as production needs require.
• Clean equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED) is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Verbal expression ability to effectively present information in both individual and small group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior carpentry experience helpful.
