About the position

The Trust Accounting and Tax Specialist at Trident Trust will provide essential accounting assistance within the Trust Operations department. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of various operational and financial activities, including corporate accounting, reporting, cash management, and investment income collection. The specialist will also support clients and collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff performance, compliance with policies, and conduct staff appraisals.
• Complete financial statements for various trust administration clients.
• Respond to IRS inquiries and participate in various committees.
• Train administrative, company, and operations staff.
• Participate in financial and regulatory audits and internal and external reviews.
• Establish and maintain banking relationships for smooth operations.
• Assist with regulatory filings and review trust operations transactions.
• Facilitate fund transfers and oversee invoicing within QuickBooks.
• Assist the COO with payable processing and transaction matching.
• Assist with FBAR information gathering and monitor tax filing status.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in accounting or trust operations.
• 3 years of client interaction or customer service experience.
• Experience reconciling and balancing complex transactional activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and cloud-based software.
