About the position
The Trust Fund Specialist position at the Department of Justice involves managing and coordinating Trust Fund programs and operations within a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility. The role is essential for ensuring the effective administration of various services, including commissary, inmate telephone services, and financial management related to the Trust Fund. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining security within the institution while supporting the reentry of individuals into the community.
Responsibilities
- Implement and coordinate Trust Fund programs and operations.
- Manage commissary services and inmate telephone services.
- Oversee the Trust Fund Limited Inmate Computer System (TRULINCS) and related applications.
- Administer budget, accounting, and procurement functions within the Trust Fund Department.
- Provide training and support for Trust Fund programs and operational areas.
- Maintain security of the institution as part of correctional responsibilities.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Education: GL-07 requires one full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement; GL-09 requires a Master's degree or equivalent graduate education or 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education.
- Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation.
- Knowledge of Trust Fund network systems and associated applications.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in financial management administrative functions such as budgeting and accounting.
- Technical competence in planning and evaluating Trust Fund programs.
