About the position

The Trust Officer position involves managing various trust accounts with a focus on accuracy, integrity, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The role requires strong client service skills and the ability to mentor junior team members while staying updated on industry trends in trust administration and wealth management.

Responsibilities

  • Administer a variety of trust accounts including revocable, irrevocable, Crummey, and special needs trusts.
  • Ensure compliance of all trust accounts with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee tax preparation with an outsourced CPA firm.
  • Oversee the successful transfer of assets to and from the trust company.
  • Coordinate with relationship managers for the annual review of trust accounts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in trust administration and wealth management.
  • Mentor, support, and encourage junior team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in personal trust and estate planning.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (JD) or certifications (CTFA, CFP, AEP, CPA) highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of fiduciary law, trust administration, and estate planning.
  • Understanding of risk and compliance in trust management.
  • Proven ability to engage and coach a team.
