About the position

The Trust Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the most complex bond and equity investment portfolios for Trust clients. This role involves developing methodologies for investment strategies and participating in the ongoing review and modification of existing methodologies. The Trust Portfolio Manager determines investment strategies for clients, shareholders, or advisors, which may take the form of separately managed accounts, mutual funds, or other collective vehicles. A key aspect of this position is initiating contacts to develop and close new business opportunities while cultivating and maintaining relationships with investment clients, including high net worth individuals. In this role, the Trust Portfolio Manager meets with current and prospective clients to explain investment services and gather background data on their personal finances. They assist clients in developing investment strategies that align with the bank's investment philosophy and the clients' investment objectives. The manager recommends specific investments based on the strategies and objectives developed in collaboration with clients. Staying informed about developments in the financial markets is crucial, as the manager uses both fundamental and technical research to make sound and timely investment recommendations. Additionally, they must keep abreast of the legal and tax consequences of investment decisions and initiate actions to execute the purchase and sale of investment securities. The Trust Portfolio Manager also provides advice and guidance to less experienced Portfolio Managers and is expected to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry-related laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act. This position requires a high level of expertise and the ability to work under stress while meeting deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • 7+ years of investment and financial analysis experience.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst or CIMA certification preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of trusts and investment products and markets.
  • Advanced understanding of banking and investment regulations.
  • Advanced skills with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
