About the position

The Trusts and Estates Paralegal will support the administration of estates and trusts, focusing on financial, accounting, and tax aspects. This role involves preparing necessary legal documents, conducting financial analyses, and ensuring compliance with probate processes, all while maintaining client confidentiality and collaborating effectively with clients and other service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare probate forms and title transfer documents such as deeds and certificates of transfer.
  • Conduct banking and financial analysis related to estates and trusts.
  • Review investment statements and prepare accounts for estates and trusts.
  • Prepare estate and gift tax returns.
  • Assist in financial and tax planning for individuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong math skills and number sense.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and estate/trust accounting software.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality strictly.
  • Collaborative work ethic and effectiveness in client interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with probate processes and filings.
  • Some financial awareness and savvy.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients' other service providers.
