About the position

The TS/SCI Chief Software Architect is a senior-level role responsible for leading the architecture and design of high-performance software capabilities for the Department of Defense (DoD). This position requires a strong background in software development and architecture, with a focus on innovation, best practices, and collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders. The role involves mentoring teams, integrating new technologies, and ensuring compliance with security and data protection regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design of high-performance capabilities for DoD.
  • Partner with Task Order technical leadership to ensure implementation of software development best practices, standards, guidelines and drive consistency across the IDIQ.
  • Drive innovation and industry trend awareness; lead teams in DevOps & Agile best practices and mentor technical teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements and translate them into secure, scalable solutions.
  • Integrate new technologies into architectures and evaluate tools for high-quality delivery.
  • Support the CTO team in driving innovation, creation of Roadmaps, and thought leadership within the customer domain.
  • Document model development processes, results, and best practices for knowledge sharing and reproducibility.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 7+ years of experience or 15+ years in software development/architecture.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, cloud computing, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of system architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with data architectures and pipelines for structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum ceremonies and experience with Agile work management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree with 15+ years in systems architecture and leadership roles.
  • Strong proficiency in scalable microservices, UI/UX design, and full-stack development.
  • Proven expertise in mission software solutions related to data science, machine learning, or similar technologies.
