About the position

The TS/SCI Data Engineer position at Insight Global involves supporting federal clients at Langley Air Force Base and Omaha, NE. The role focuses on organizing big data to derive critical insights for various missions, including fraud detection and national intelligence. The Data Engineer will be responsible for developing and deploying data pipelines and platforms, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and enhancing their skills in data analysis and platform maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Implement data engineering activities to support mission-driven projects.
  • Develop and deploy scalable pipelines and platforms to organize and make sense of diverse data sets.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a dynamic, agile environment.
  • Enhance skills in analytical exploration and data examination while supporting the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, or Computer Science.
  • Over 2 years of experience in data engineering, data wrangling, and developing highly scalable ETL or DataOps pipelines.
  • More than 2 years of experience in relational and dimensional modeling techniques, including organizing and structuring data.
  • At least 2 years of experience applying principles, best practices, and trade-offs of schema design across various database technologies.
  • Over 2 years of experience in implementing web services, including SOAP and RESTful APIs, using microservices architectures and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, Scala, Java, and UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
  • Ability to develop scripts and programs to convert various types of data into usable formats.
  • Capability to work in a big data environment and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile and DevSecOps teams and environments, utilizing Atlassian tools.
  • Skilled in implementing rapid response query solutions on Big Data platforms using Elasticsearch or scalable query engines.
  • Proficient in implementing batch and real-time big data integration frameworks and applications in private or public clouds (AWS or Azure).
  • Knowledgeable in Zero Trust principles and designing data architectures with role-based data access.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related technical fields.
  • Amazon Certified Solutions Architect and Associate certification.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and industry trends.
