About the position

The Senior Network Security Engineer will support a classified contract in Columbia, MD, focusing on providing network boundary security solutions. This role involves designing, engineering, and implementing network security measures while ensuring compliance with DOD standards and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide network support across all areas of the network including design, engineering, upgrades, deployment, and implementation.
• Manage and complete network remediation/improvement requests regarding load balancing, firewall support, proxies, and latency.
• Develop and implement security protocols to enhance network security.
• Conduct network monitoring and security audits for vulnerabilities and potential issues.
• Coordinate with team members and customers on workflows and problem resolution, creating appropriate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with DOD standards and industry regulations.

Requirements

• TS/SCI with active Polygraph clearance
• Security+ Certification
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or 4 additional years of relevant experience)
• 8+ years of experience as a Network Engineer
• Ability to design, integrate, and deploy network security solutions including firewalls, load balancing, and Symantec proxies
• Cisco Certifications (CCNP, CCNA, CCIE, etc.)
• ITIL Certification
• Symantec/Blue Coat product certification and experience
