About the position

As a Test Engineer Advisor at GDIT, you will work with cutting-edge applications to support the FDA contract in the Technology Shared Services group. This hybrid position involves performing testing of Appian software, collaborating with technology teams, and ensuring quality assurance through established testing procedures. Your role will focus on designing test plans, conducting performance tests, and providing troubleshooting support, all while participating in Agile software development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test and testing requirements for products, systems, software and/or related technology using independent judgement.
• Partner with applicable technology teams to determine testing parameters.
• Write test plans and create test cases for product(s).
• Conduct quality assurance and design performance tests using established testing procedures.
• Partner with other department engineers and developers in creating practical test demonstrations for proposed technology.
• Provide troubleshooting for moderately complex testing errors and streamline testing procedures.
• Ensure testing methodology and procedures meet company and industry standards.
• Build and execute automated tests.
• Prepare reports and advanced analysis for testing.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and best practices relevant to the industry.
• Provide guidance and leadership to less experienced personnel.
• Participate in Agile software development initiatives to support innovation and enhancement of applications through iteration/functionality testing.
• Collaborate with team members to assess Story Point/complexity efforts to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria.
• Develop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system.
• Provide early exploratory testing during the development phase.
• Design, code and deploy automated test scripts.
• Maintain test documentation, provide support to government test organization, evaluate test results, and provide feedback in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline.

Requirements

• Master's degree with 8 years of experience, Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience, Associates' degree with 12 years' experience, or 14 years of experience with no degree.
• Significant experience testing Appian.
• Proficient in different software testing methodologies.
• Conceptual knowledge on Agile integration - working as part of an Agile team utilizing Scrum or Kanban.
• Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies.
• Ability to test applications developed with commercial-off-the-shelf products.
• Ability to interact effectively with customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently under limited supervision and as part of a larger team.
• Ability to manage multiple task assignments.
• Collaborative - team player who works well with customers and colleagues at all levels.
• Quality and detail focused.
• Ability to obtain and maintain FDA Public Trust Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with testing ServiceNow, Salesforce.
• Experience with programming in Java / C#, JavaScript or equivalent Programming Language.
• 2+ years with AWS, JMeter, Postman, API tools.
• Automation Testing Tools (such as Automated Test Frame (ATF), Selenium WebDriver) experience.
• Automated Testing - Building and Maintaining Frameworks.
• Developed testing processes and procedures and formal test plans.
