About the position

As a Data Analyst Senior at GDIT, you will deliver insights that help clients turn data into actionable solutions. This role involves developing customer dashboards, performing deep dive analytics, and providing transformative solutions to big-data challenges faced by federal agencies. You will collaborate with a team to ensure effective data management and reporting, ultimately contributing to the mission of making today safe and tomorrow smarter.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and define industry best practices for decision-making.
• Create, refine, and deliver reports and dashboards for internal or external purposes.
• Utilize Tableau, Excel, SQL, Power BI, and/or other business intelligence tools.
• Provide data analytics and key insights.
• Highlight and define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure performance across different sections.
• Manage a team of analysts to develop analytical solutions and standardize best practices across multiple programs.
• Collaborate with a team of developers, analysts, and engineers to determine feature requests, priorities, dashboards, and solutions.
• Write user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans, and retrospectives to improve Agile development processes.
• Perform Quality Assurance (QA) testing of new features to ensure that requirements are met, and the resulting user experience works as intended.
• Participate in and support user acceptance testing and the deployment of the solution to production.
• Prepare and conduct presentations and training materials.
• Create and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with a team of developers, analysts, and engineers to deliver on-time Agile sprint releases.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of related experience in data analysis.
• Strong Excel background and familiarity with other Microsoft tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Highly proficient with Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Experience reporting on ITIL Processes using tools such as Remedy, ServiceNow, BMC Helix, Salesforce.
• Ability to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• 2+ years of experience managing small to medium teams in support of a common goal.
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present to business leaders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Agile methodology.
• Experience developing dashboards using Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Experience with Python.
