About the position

The TSS Statewide Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing various work unit programs and staff within the Department of Transformation and Shared Services. This role involves providing technical assistance to state agencies, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, and managing a professional team to achieve operational objectives. The position requires strategic planning, coordination of projects, and representation of the office in various meetings and communications.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of a medium to large-sized professional, technical, and administrative support staff through lower-level supervisors or lead staff.
• Plan the regular business processes for the unit(s) and oversee recommendations related to policy, procedure, action, and guidance.
• Coordinate routine and non-routine process requests and actions with other TSS offices and sections.
• Review, develop, and recommend legislation, policies, and procedures for statewide implementation.
• Interpret and disseminate legislation, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance by state agencies and institutions.
• Coordinate or conduct special projects as directed by higher authorities, assigning work activities and monitoring progress.
• Respond to executive and legislative information requests and represent the office at meetings as required.
• Coordinate written and electronic communication items with state agencies and institutions of higher education.
• Represent the office at internal and external meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
• Three years of progressively more responsible experience in a program area.
