About the position

The Turnaround Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation and execution of turnaround events within the Global Engineering & Turnaround (GE&T) organization. This role involves defining execution strategies, leading constructability reviews, optimizing schedules, and preparing staffing for turnaround events. The position emphasizes leadership in achieving safety performance goals and effective communication across various levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to achieve GoalZERO HSE performance.
  • Lead the development and implementation of turnaround execution strategies and best practices.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and schedule optimizations.
  • Develop staffing plans for pre-turnaround and execution phases based on man hour estimates and contractor requirements.
  • Lead execution team training and onboarding efforts.
  • Accountable for all maintenance field activities associated with the turnaround and related capital projects.
  • Communicate effectively to foster support and remove obstacles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a process plant or comparable environment required.
  • 10 or more years of turnaround/project experience and 5 years of management experience strongly preferred.
  • Construction management expertise with detailed knowledge of craft and quality assurance practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SAP.
  • Understanding of field execution for Petrochemical Turnarounds.
  • Knowledge of basic Primavera scheduling practices preferred.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage multiple/changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional analytical skills for evaluating system performance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to relate complex concepts with all levels of staff.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of basic Primavera scheduling practices preferred.
