About the position

The Turnaround QA/QC Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of welding activities during turnaround projects at Bilfinger UK. This position involves preparing and managing QA documentation, conducting inspections, and liaising with various stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues efficiently. The engineer will ensure that all processes meet the agreed standards and contribute to the overall efficiency and safety of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of QA Documentation in Accordance with Agreed Site Requirements.
  • Preparation of Welding Documentation in Accordance with Site Approved Weld Procedures & Site QA/QC System Requirements.
  • Identify any Applications for T/A not covered by Existing Site Approved Weld Procedures Site Requirements.
  • Assist with Recruitment & Approval of Welders Required for the T/A.
  • Visual Inspections on Completed Welding in Accordance with Agreed Standards & Design Criteria.
  • Manage & Execute QA / NDT Requirements of all T/A Welding Activities.
  • Manage & Execute Required Checks on Completed Flange Joints made by B.U.K. & Sub-Contractors.
  • Complete QA Documentation to Ensure 100% Traceability of Completed Flange Joints for Handover to Client T/A Quality Engineer.
  • Complete Welding QA Documentation for Handover & Acceptance by Clients Inspection.
  • Liaise with Area Engineer / Site Supervisor / ESSAR QA / P.U. Assurance Engineer to Resolve QA Related Issues in an Efficient & Timely Manner.
  • Ensure QA Boards Reflect the QA Status of each Completed Task to Allow Safe & Efficient Handback to ESSAR Operations.
  • Compile all Completed Documentation in Preparation for Archiving.

Requirements

  • Experience in QA/QC processes within engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of welding procedures and QA/QC systems.
  • Ability to conduct visual inspections and manage QA documentation effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with engineers and supervisors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods.
  • Experience in turnaround projects within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
