About the position

The position is within the R&D department of Mei, a multinational Italian company specializing in industrial machinery for the optics sector. The role involves conducting tests on machines, analyzing performance data, and developing new cutting processes. The candidate will report directly to the R&D Quality Assurance Leader and will be responsible for ensuring high-quality standards in product development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests on machines regarding new machine functions and performance data acquisition.
• Develop new cutting processes and test new tools on specific materials.
• Analyze test results and prepare reports on findings.
• Study and interpret test results to propose solutions and improvements in R&D QA.
• Travel to client sites to understand machine usage, installation, and maintenance.
• Interface with customer service to address quality issues related to cutting and lens defects during the process.
• Utilize internal measuring tools such as TESA, Zoller, and digital microscopes.

Requirements

• Technical diploma with prior experience in machine tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; field experience is a plus.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with machine tools and precision mechanics.
• Proficiency in Excel for data processing and graph creation, and CAD for creating or modifying simple drawings.
