We are currently seeking a Security Operations Technician at our Turquoise Ridge site. This role is integral to our Security team, which is focused on creating a support-centric environment that enhances our challenging yet rewarding work atmosphere, ultimately strengthening our mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting personnel, property, and processes from harm, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Compliance with state and federal health and safety regulations, as well as adherence to company policies and environmental compliance standards, is essential. We are committed to ensuring a safe work environment, sending every person home safe and healthy every day, while also leaving a sustainable legacy in our host communities. The Security Operations Technician will conduct inspections of vehicles, property, and high-security areas, recognizing unauthorized items or circumstances. The role requires a willingness to work overtime, accept abrupt schedule changes, and respond promptly to emergency callouts. Daily responsibilities include writing reports on events, demonstrating writing proficiency to express ideas factually and accurately, and reporting on security events that impact company personnel or property. Strong verbal communication skills are necessary for emergency call taking and statement gathering, as well as effective communication with the Security Supervisor regarding any situations that may affect the company. The technician will also monitor refinery security systems, respond to alarms, and demonstrate professional and courteous interpersonal communication skills. Training on the Security Policies and Procedures manual is required, and the technician may assist Security Systems Technicians as needed. The ability to multi-task while remaining poised in demanding situations is crucial, as is proficiency in monitoring access control systems and video surveillance systems. Functional computer skills with high typing proficiency are also necessary for this role.
