About the position
The Tutor for the Extended Day/20 Day Funds program is responsible for working with students to enhance their academic performance. This temporary position requires collaboration with teachers and engagement with students to address their specific academic needs, ensuring they develop strong skills in their areas of greatest need.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Provides academic assistance in the student's area(s) of greatest need.
- Collaborates with the student's teacher concerning the student's academic needs.
- Engages students in appropriate academic activities.
- Assists students in developing strong academic skills.
- Establishes and maintains rapport with the students.
- Maintains records of student progress.
- Provides evaluations and other reports as requested.
- Participates in scheduled meetings.
- Provides record of hours worked to an assigned Tutor Contact.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree required
- Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate
- Prior classroom experience required
- Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities
- Written and oral communication skills
- Motivated and well-organized
- Student management skills
