About the position
The Tutor position involves providing educational support to children and adults at an affordable apartment community in Sun Valley, California. The role focuses on assisting with homework and enhancing skills in subjects such as math, reading, spelling, and English. The tutor will also dedicate time to adult education classes, making it a versatile role that caters to a diverse age group.
Responsibilities
- Assist children ages 6 to 12 with homework and academic support in math, reading, spelling, and English.
- Conduct adult education classes for two hours a week.
- Work independently to provide effective tutoring sessions.
- Manage a schedule of tutoring sessions from Monday to Friday.
Requirements
- Experience working with middle schoolers and younger children.
- Knowledge of teaching methods suitable for elementary and middle school aged children, as well as adults.
- Ability to work independently.

- Experience in tutoring or teaching in a formal or informal setting.
