About the position

The TVC Electro Mechanical Technician position at Amentum involves supporting the Thrust Vector Control Test laboratory through assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and design of electromechanical systems. The role requires a blend of mechanical and electronic skills, with a focus on safety and adherence to protocols in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Thrust Vector Control Test laboratory through assembly and testing of electromechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware installations and perform mechanical fabrication and assembly based on verbal or written input.
  • Follow work instructions and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Ensure compliance with stringent work area rules and safety protocols.
  • Fabricate and test cables, including routing and assembly.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent with technical training in the applicable area of expertise and a minimum of 10 years of related experience, or an Associate Degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Experience in mechanical and electronic hardware assembly and testing.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Standard.
  • Experience with cable fabrication, routing, and testing is highly desired.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain certifications for various activities such as Overhead Crane/Hoist, Electrostatic Discharge, and Forklift.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hydraulics operations, tube fitting, and welding.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in metal fabrication and welding.
