The Quality Engineering (QE) API Automation and Mobile Tester roles are critical positions based in Houston, requiring candidates to work onsite from day one. The primary focus of these roles is to ensure the quality and functionality of APIs and mobile applications through rigorous testing methodologies. Candidates must possess strong skills in API testing, both functional and automated, and be adept at analyzing requirements to prepare comprehensive test plans and testing requirements. In these roles, testers will engage closely with business teams to clarify requirements and collaborate with offshore functional and automation leads to drive the testing process. Responsibilities include reviewing test strategies, test plans, and test cases, as well as performing various types of testing such as sanity, functional, and regression testing. Testers will be responsible for reporting consolidated testing results and release sign-off reports, ensuring that all testing activities are documented and communicated effectively. Participation in requirements grooming sessions, Scrum meetings, business review calls, and release cutover calls is essential. Testers must have a solid understanding of the bug life cycle, be able to report issues, prioritize them, and represent them during release sign-offs. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently are crucial, as is flexibility to support work in Central Standard Time (CST). The roles also involve working on an automation sprint model, utilizing tools such as Maven, TestNG, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins. Testers will analyze automation requirements, develop test plans or approaches, and derive test estimations. They will be responsible for developing and executing automation scripts for releases, updating the testing framework independently, and developing test strategies. Close collaboration with the application development team is necessary for gathering requirements and resolving challenges. Testers will own test cycles and manage end-to-end testing processes, adhering to the eQRM process to ensure that eQA is completed within estimated timelines. Good communication skills are essential for interacting with clients and stakeholders throughout the testing process.
