About the position

As the Associate Director of Finance at Catholic Charities Fort Worth, you will be joining a mission-driven team dedicated to supporting clients and addressing poverty in the community. With a legacy of 114 years, the organization is focused on creating impactful programs across five key areas: financial resiliency, education credentials, emotional resiliency, resource stability, and employment. Your role will be pivotal in leading the finance team, which includes financial analysts and staff accountants, and providing oversight during the annual budget process and audits. You will also be responsible for enhancing financial expertise to support refugee programs in Texas, ensuring that financial needs are projected accurately based on legislative developments. In this position, you will design and lead financial monitoring of partners, working closely with the Monitoring and Compliance Specialists and Financial Analysts. You will manage special finance projects, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time. Additionally, you will oversee the approval of reimbursement invoices and budgets for subgrant agreements, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of federal grant requirements and managing the distribution of funds to partner agencies. Your analytical skills will be essential in interpreting complex financial data, providing insights for special projects, forecasting, and identifying new funding opportunities. You will also be responsible for presenting financial impacts to the TXOR team, keeping them informed of any changes in budgeting or reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Finance team, including financial analysts and staff accountants.
  • Provide oversight and support for the finance team during the annual budget process and annual audits.
  • Grow financial expertise for analytical support of refugee programs in Texas.
  • Design and lead financial monitoring of partners in coordination with Monitoring and Compliance Specialists and Financial Analysts.
  • Complete special finance projects in a timely, accurate, and effective manner.
  • Obtain final approval of all reimbursement invoices and budgets for new/renewed subgrant agreements.
  • Work with Directors in preparing the annual State Refugee Coordinators Office budget.
  • Maintain understanding of federal grant requirements and manage pass-through of funds to partner agencies.
  • Provide ongoing fiscal review of providers.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for financial or reporting issues.
  • Interpret technical and financial data for analysis related to special projects and funding opportunities.
  • Present relevant financial information to the TXOR team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and five years of experience in accounting and financial reporting required.
  • Master's degree in accounting or CPA preferred.
  • Experience with functional accounting areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with governmental grants and Code of Federal Regulations compliance and non-profit agencies preferred.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Abila MIP preferred.
  • Ability to travel to quarterly strategic meetings across the state and for sub-grantee monitoring.
