About the position

We are seeking a Senior TypeScript/JavaScript NodeJS Developer with AWS experience for a W2 contract position based in Orlando, FL. The role involves building, implementing, and maintaining tools and automation in collaboration with a scrum team, focusing on both front-end and back-end development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and site reliability engineering, with a commitment to optimizing systems and reducing toil through automation.

Responsibilities

• Build, implement, and maintain tools and automation in collaboration with the scrum team.
• Develop specifications for new projects, platforms, and tools, advocating for innovative approaches to drive efficiency and availability.
• Design and implement UIs that assist Systems Engineers and other IT professionals in delivering new business functionality efficiently and reliably.
• Design and implement back-end services.
• Combine software engineering and site-reliability engineering best practices to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
• Assist in requirements gathering and provide technical documentation to meet those needs.
• Write code, review peers' code, mentor junior- to mid-level engineers, write documentation, write tests, perform testing, and debug code in lower and production environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in coding and development of highly scalable software components or client-facing web applications.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and NodeJS.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and test-driven development.
• Experience in Object-Oriented design principles, patterns, and coding best practices.
• Proficiency in Restful API development using NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Express.
• Experience in UI development using Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Strong experience with database applications such as Aurora MySQL and DynamoDB.
• Experience with AWS services including EC2, Lambdas, API Gateway, ElastiCache, ECS/EKS/ECR, SNS, and SQS.
• Understanding of code management, configuration, and deployment tools like Git, GitHub, and GitLab.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous work as a developer in an incident messaging group.
• Knowledge of common data structures and their applications.
