DuPont's Spruance, VA plant is looking to fill a position for a Process Control Improvement Engineer in our Tyvek line of business. Tyvek is a 100% synthetic material made from high-density spunbound polyethylene fibers. Lightweight, durable and breathable, yet resistant to water, abrasion, bacterial penetration and aging, Tyvek is an amazing material used to improve a variety of applications across multiple industries. This role is responsible for the management, development and application of technology, management systems, and process control assessment tools designed to manage the current and evolving process control portfolios within Operations. This role has the accountability to define the strategy and provide functional leadership in alignment with tactical and strategic Business Technology Objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the Tyvek Process Control (Distributed Control System (DCS), Safety Interlock Systems (SIS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), PCN Historian, Cybersecurity).
  • Aligns and leverages in Water & Protection, (W&P) DuPont Center of Excellence and industry standards.
  • Provides input for prioritization for Process Control Process Safety Management (PSM), Grow and Improve projects, including obsolescence strategies.
  • Provides Process Control expertise for Management of Change (MOC), including approval of MOCs as the Process Control functional reviewer.
  • Participates in Process Control Root Cause Investigations (RCIs) for incidents and near misses. Ensures learnings are documented and communicated to the organization to prevent future occurrences.
  • Accountable for developing and maintaining technical training content for Operations and Manufacturing Technology.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching.
  • Develop and implement strategies for defining and implementing Process Control Most Competitive Manufacturing Technology (MCMT).
  • Participate in Project Reviews.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering discipline required.
  • 10-15 years of manufacturing or related experience required.
  • Line of business experience preferred.
  • Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process/Low Hazard Operation) experience required.
