About the position
The U.S. Census Bureau is seeking Field Representatives in Washington Parish, LA, to conduct interviews and collect survey or census data. This role involves engaging with the community primarily through in-person interactions, ensuring accurate data collection, and maintaining records of work-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews primarily in person (door to door) and may conduct phone interviews when requested to collect survey or census data.
- Communicate effectively with respondents, supervisors, and other relevant individuals.
- Understand survey materials to explain the purpose of surveys and accurately ask questions as worded on the questionnaire or survey instrument.
- Enter accurate and complete information into a laptop computer or onto survey forms.
- Maintain personal payroll records that reflect hours worked, miles driven, and reimbursements for travel and communications claimed.
- Complete and attend necessary training in-person or online.
Requirements
- Ability to conduct interviews and collect data accurately.
- Strong communication skills to interact with respondents and supervisors.
- Familiarity with survey materials and data entry processes.

- Bilingual proficiency is preferred but not mandatory.
