About the position

The U.S. Health Equity Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at Harvard Medical School is designed for early-career researchers to engage in original research aimed at advancing health equity within the U.S. health care system. This two-year fellowship emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach, leveraging insights from various fields to address the social, economic, and political factors that impact health care delivery, particularly in low-income settings. Fellows will work closely with mentors from the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine and other Harvard departments, participating in seminars and career development workshops.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original research projects focused on health equity in the U.S. health care system.
• Collaborate with community-based and clinical organizations to develop and evaluate health care delivery interventions.
• Engage in field research in low-income settings to gather data and insights.
• Participate in department seminars and career-development workshops at Harvard Medical School.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in a field related to social medicine or global health.
• Experience working in low-income communities.
• Knowledge of U.S. health care systems.
