About the position

The U.S. Procurement Manager for Insurance Programs is responsible for overseeing the purchase and management of business insurance for the company in the Americas region. This role involves daily operations of the insurance and risk management functions, including collecting and analyzing risk-related information, formulating strategies, and presenting them to the regional Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) committee. The manager will also coordinate with various teams to ensure comprehensive risk assessment and insurance coverage, while promoting loss prevention and compliance with insurance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the purchase of business insurance for the Americas region.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the insurance/risk operation.
  • Collect and analyze risk-related information and present strategies to the ERM committee.
  • Execute approved insurance-related decisions and manage claims and loss control activities.
  • Maintain relationships with third-party service providers, including brokers and insurers.
  • Prepare loss analyses and budgets, identify exposures, and recommend solutions.
  • Implement approved programs and promote loss prevention initiatives.
  • Coordinate with HQ and other regional procurement teams to ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Support projects undertaken by the ERM committee to identify and mitigate operational and strategic risks.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or Mathematics.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • 3+ years of business insurance-related experience.
  • 3+ years of procurement experience.
  • Strong contract negotiation experience.
  • Experience managing long-term vendor relationships, particularly with insurance brokers.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and risk management practices.
  • Ability to drive consensus and actions in committee environments.
  • Strong influencing skills and collaboration ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment.
  • Experience leading medium to large scale projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated analytic ability with data-driven decision making.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant risk and insurance certifications.
  • Mandarin language skills are a plus.
