About the position
The UAS Network Systems Integrator will be responsible for system-level installation, configuration, automation, testing, and analysis of network equipment, primarily focusing on Multi-layer Switches, Firewalls, and Linux-based operating systems. This role involves collaboration with software developers and systems engineers to design and integrate network configurations, while also supporting Agile development processes. The position requires a strong background in network administration and scripting to automate installations and configurations within a virtualized environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and integrate network configurations and firewall configurations with associated documentation.
- Support the development of full system installation images on a biweekly basis within an Agile scrum model.
- Troubleshoot network issues on virtual and physical switches and firewalls.
- Work within a VMWare environment to design automated system and network configurations.
- Write system scripts in Bash, PowerShell, Java, and Python for automated network configuration installation.
- Automate the creation, deployment, and configuration of virtual machines, containers, and networks for UAS system installations.
- Develop engineering technical materials including system description documents, network installation guides, and network diagrams.
Requirements
- ABET Accredited Engineering Degree or Computer Science Degree required.
- Minimum of six (6) years engineering experience.
- Strong experience configuring Cisco switches (VLAN, VRF, routing protocols, Access Control List).
- Strong experience in network administration, remote network configuration, and firewall configuration.
- Strong experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Strong understanding of general computing system architectures and virtual machines.
- Strong command line experience with UNIX-based operating systems or Windows command line configuration.
- Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a Security+ SE and a Network + SE.
Nice-to-haves
- Holding an active CCNA certification.
- Experience with datacenter architectures (cluster computing or high availability systems).
- Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, and/or Ansible.
- Experience writing technical documentation using Microsoft Office and Visio.
- Experience with Atlassian workflow management software.
- Experience with software development and testing.
- Experience with Uncrewed Aircraft Systems.
