About the position

The UAS Regional Operations Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of Guardian Agriculture in California, ensuring alignment with the Boston headquarters and driving growth in the region. This role involves managing the Salinas office, supervising the UAS Operations Manager, and collaborating with various teams to enhance operational processes and customer satisfaction. The director will play a crucial role in the deployment of the SC1 spray drone technology, contributing to the company's expansion in precision agriculture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the UAS Operations Manager to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Ensure alignment with Boston HQ for consistent operations and strategic goals.
  • Oversee the Salinas office, managing a growing team to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine the SC1 system based on field feedback.
  • Provide high-level support for customer success during SC1 deployments.
  • Lead field demonstrations for potential customers and partners to support sales growth.
  • Refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implement best practices for field efficiency and safety.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team, ensuring proper staffing and development.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and California pesticide laws.
  • Support equipment maintenance programs for optimal system performance.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in regional operations management, agriculture, or field logistics.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Experience overseeing customer-facing operations with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in FAA regulations and agricultural operations.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience bringing new technology to market.
  • Relevant certifications such as FAA Part 107 or California Qualified Pesticide Applicator.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and participate in field operations.
