About the position

As a Mortgage Area Sales Manager at United Community Bank, you will lead and inspire a team to achieve excellence in mortgage sales. Your role will involve setting strategic goals, driving sales productivity, and enhancing the customer experience. You will be responsible for managing a team of Mortgage Loan Officers, ensuring they meet origination goals while maintaining high standards of service. This position is pivotal in shaping the future of mortgage sales within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Establish production goals and strategy for Mortgage Loan Officers.
  • Determine annual goals and reevaluate them monthly and quarterly.
  • Drive sales productivity and profitability by closely working with Mortgage Loan Officers.
  • Motivate and reward mortgage consultants through sales calls and joint ventures.
  • Lead sales and product training in the region to ensure best-in-class customer service levels.
  • Recruit, train, and build a high-performance team while retaining top performers.
  • Manage expenses, revenue generation, and profit and loss statements.
  • Partner with the Bank to meet mortgage and cross-sell goals.
  • Collaborate with Fulfillment/Operations for efficient customer-driven production.

Requirements

  • 3 years of management experience in a proven leadership role managing 12-20 team members.
  • Experience in residential mortgage sales originations.
  • Background in mortgage retail sales and operations including loan underwriting, processing, and closing functions.
  • Familiarity with FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA/USDA programs and underwriting guidelines.
  • Experience in developing marketing strategies and plans in a retail sales environment.
  • Knowledge of net operating income and budgets.
