About the position

CGS is seeking a talented, driven UI Designer to join our team helping our national security customers achieve deeper stakeholder engagement through the iterative, research-driven, user-centered design of their core applications and websites. In this role, you will lead efforts to design mission-critical applications and websites that provide seamless user experiences driven by modern, innovative interfaces. The ideal candidate possesses experience leading the iterative prototyping and design of modern, responsive web pages, applications, and other digital solutions that exceed the expectations of both clients and end users. Responsibilities

• Lead the design of mission-critical applications and websites.
• Create wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to communicate design ideas.
• Collaborate with ECS engineers and federal clients to implement digital solutions.
• Manage the planning, design, and implementation of multiple sites and applications simultaneously.
• Establish and maintain rapid customer feedback loops to inform design decisions.
• Create scalable design resources for project collaboration and expansion of creative services.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years combined professional design experience (UI Design, Graphic Design, CX/UX, Design Research).
• Strong online portfolio showcasing research-driven design decisions.
• Results-oriented problem solver with high standards for quality and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of the website development life cycle.
• Experience designing compliant web and mobile applications with 508 and USWDS standards.
• Experience prioritizing features based on user goals and business requirements.
• Experience carrying designs from wireframes to high-fidelity UI mockups.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe XD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Nice-to-haves

• Excellent interpersonal and client-focused skills.
• Advanced coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, and JS).
• Experience using Agile methodology to manage projects.
• Experience creating and modifying data visualizations.
• Understanding of user research methodologies and user-centered design principles.
