About the position

The Senior User Interface Developer will lead the implementation of designs for web applications and support critical business operations through effective user interface development. This role involves collaboration with colleagues at various levels in an IT environment, focusing on front-end development and JavaScript programming.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business units to identify business requirements for projects.
  • Identify technical requirements of projects.
  • Analyze all aspects of projects and perform feasibility and cost/benefit analyses.
  • Plan and organize tasks, report on project progress, and coordinate with development teams.
  • Perform complex programming assignments adhering to established standards and best practices.
  • Design application and database components for development projects.
  • Analyze business models and customer requirements to build Internet solutions using multiple technologies.
  • Mitigate risks associated with high complexity projects.
  • Analyze program performance and correct deficiencies as needed.
  • Maintain and modify web applications, documenting changes and coding updates.
  • Provide support for critical web application issues.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in critical production problem investigations.
  • Conduct research into new technologies and mentor junior developers.
  • Manage projects and report on progress as necessary.
  • Provide tier 2, on-call support for critical web application issues.
  • Assist with application server maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of IT experience.
  • 5+ years of software/front-end development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with web application development.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks (Vue, React, Angular) and REST API integrations.
  • Experience migrating JSP-based applications to SPA/microservices preferred.
  • Experience with Containers and Kubernetes preferred.
  • Experience with JavaScript package managers.
  • Testing experience at various levels (unit, component, integration, end-to-end).
  • Experience with Source Control environments (SVN, GIT).
  • Exposure to wireframing/modeling/front-end design tools.
  • Strong grasp of web design principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Interest in mentoring junior developers.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
